CARB Legal intake for 06 xA?
What companies manufacture CARB legal intakes for the 2006 xA? All the ones i've been seeing are for 04-05 mainly for the xB.
Thanks for any assistance

BUMP: Edit: 8/4/2006
Word has it that AEM is coming out with a cold-air intake CARB legal version for the 06 xA's. Can anyone confirm?
And can anyone confirm that Injen has CARB legal cold-air intake for the 06 as well?
Thanks for any assistance

intakes for the 04-05 xA will fit the 06 models as well.
For carb legal, you can check this buyers guide~

I have yet to see any CARB legal intakes for the 06 scions... that includes the TRD/AEM dealer CAIs. Its a bit odd b/c I didn't think Scion would sell them unless they got CARB approval first, but its probably still caught up in the red tape.
The odd thing is the TRD CAI received approval for 04-05 scion models on 3/1/2006. But the 2006 Scions are not listed within that EO.
So, if you want to be perfectly legal with an 06 you must wait.

'06 Scions have a charcol filter built into the intake. To be CARB legal any aftermarket intake would have to also have the carbon filter, there are none available as of yet.
So far no CARB legal intakes for '06 Scions.
And a word of warning, if you get caught removing your charcol filter it is a federal crime, not just state. Don't get caught.

When the engine is shut off, a very small amount of unburned fuel can be left in the system. As it evaporates, it'll do so back out thru the intake, and the charcoal will absorb it... when the engine is started again, the airflow will purge the charcoal of fumes, readying it for the next cycle....
That's the theory, anyway.
