Catch Can Install
#22
Depends on the can. Some are intended to be drawm through back into the intake. Some are intended to vent to the atmosphere. The canton unit I run has an inlet from the v-cover and a breather filter at the outlet. Either way it needs to have a series of baffles inside to separate the oil from the air.

Most of the cans out there are for looks plain and simple.
If you want a functional can get something like this -> http://saikoumichi.com/SPLIT_DC3_page.htm
Yes it is pricey but if you are buying something for function make sure to spend the cash on something that works!
Read through the page he talks about the vapor issues and also using a dual system for the crankcase and the PCV setup.
Here is an install on a tC. The guy does a nice write up http://blog.scionxtc.com/blogs/archi...catch-can.aspx
Also yes, you want to plumb it like OE in a closed setup so that the vacuum pulls as it is supposed to. Checkout these one way valves as well http://blog.scionxtc.com/blogs/archi...rank-vent.aspx
Yes, I am about overkill.
