Cherry Bomb Glasspack

Anyone ever put one on their box? If so does anyone have any write ups or a how-to? I'm new to installing exhaust systems.

they need to be welded in have a muffler shop do it for you won't cost that much anyways

Are you replacing the resonator with it?

What size are you getting?

What is the length of the stock resonator? anyone?

Glowbox 05-10-2009 11:40 PM

Ya there is one in stock at an autozone by me i'll have to get dimensions tomorrow. I think Gothbox did it and wondered about how he did it.

OakToddler 05-11-2009 12:16 AM

I am just looking to swap it. No piping change. I have a strup header and a dc sport exhaust.

I think the stock oem resonator is between 18 and 22 inches?????

I just want a glass pack that is the same size and can accomadate the 1.75 or 1 3/4 stock piping.

Glowbox 05-11-2009 12:34 AM

ya i was thinking of swapping it to and keep with factory piping and an aftermarket tip. i heard a soundclip of gothbox's and im gonna ask what he did.

OakToddler 05-11-2009 12:18 PM

I wonder if this would be a perfect fit?

i read from an earlier post about cherry bomb glass packs and in and out its 1.75" but do i need it to be the same lenght as the stock resonator?

OakToddler 05-11-2009 03:20 PM

Long enough to reach the original piping, I thought.

1.75 for cherry bomb does not appear to be available in a straight away...

Glowbox 05-11-2009 03:40 PM

Ya i checked cherrybomb and the lowest is 2". I checked with GothBox and he replaced the piping b/w the CAT and Glasspack to 2" then straight piping to the back with a tip

Forget the Cherry Bomb.

I am running a Flowmaster Hushpower II in the stock resonator location. I did have the pipes cat-back enlarged to 2 1/4 for a turbo. There is zero rasp but I will warn you, it does drone very loudly between 45-55 mph in the cabin. A silencer in the tip will fix this.

I suggest the HP-2 series.

great way to insure getting pulled over especailly in NJ

Glowbox 05-12-2009 02:17 AM

I decided on keeping the stock resonator and replacing the muffler with the glass pack. Saw the soundclip of Gothbox's and really liked it.

Gothbox 05-13-2009 06:08 AM

found a couple pics of mine, I do not remember the length of my glass pack though, I think its just 12inches.

Thanks for the pics!

Explain what you have going on?

Stock pipes?

Gothbox 05-13-2009 03:24 PM

stock resonator, and then you can see where the new 2inch pipe starts that goes to a glasspack where the stock muffler was short 2inch pipe with a tip.

Thank you so much for are your help guys. I just set up an appointment at Midas for them to install the glasspack for only $60 and the glasspack was only $20. lol
