I was wondering if anybody in the U.S. has successfully done a swap on a xB using something like a 2002ish Celica GTS 1.8L engine (2ZZ-FE)? Or anything close to that maybe? If so, please post pix and feedback on install difficulty and what modifications had to be made to accomodate this swap....

I don't believe there has been a succesful engine swap PERIOD. There's been rumors of Integra and Celica swaps, but no actual proof of it having been done.

 

nothing into xb. a 4efte has been swapped into an xa tho.

 

i can swap the engine from the xB into my xA sorry couldn't resist

Well i am not sure about a Celica engine, but i know that an engine swap is possible and it has been done before to an xB. Justin Hampton has a wicked xB and he swapped the engine out with a CRAZY modified Toyota 22-RT turbocharged engine that puts out an amazing 400 HP!!!! Although i am sure it costs a pretty penny! Just wanted to mention that an engine swap has been done before to an xB.

yeah that car right above is also no longer a scion. it uses a toyota truck frame , has a custom made floor and body mounting tabs welded onto the frame, oh and a custom firewall , trust me it isn't a scion anymore.
