Default Exhaust Leak or..?

2005 Xa...my exhaust sounds like it has a leak...hard to say from where..I think its coming from up by the engine area ( exhaust manifold gasket???).I had my mechanic take a look at it and I went under too,no visible leaks in the system and he swears its just how my muffler sounds...TRD.Well Im 99% sure its not the muffler,that has a deep mellow tone,this leak sounds like ..well a leak,a ticky sound.Its most noticeable under heavy exceleration..when your just driving slow its not so bad.Anyone have any suggestions on what/where it might be,added footnote; I just had oil changed..it was overdue..and my mant. required light comes on when I satrt up..someone suggested just undoing the battery for a few mins then reconnect it and it should correct its self ,as far a s the light coming on?

Did you try taking out that cross brace that runs under the mid pipe?

I would look closely at the front donut gasket at the outlet of your exhaust manifold. I already replaced mine once and I swear it's leaking again. It is much more noticeable under hard acceleration, noticeably worse since I installed my s/c. I recently added a torque damper and the noise got better...but is still barely there. Look for cracks in it or traces of black (carbon) coming from the exhaust. Just an idea I have a borla axle back on mine and it's definitely not coming from back there.

My 04 xB was raddling like crazy as well when I bought it and I checked into my mechanics at my shop and since he didn't know what scion was since I'm in Canada, I told him that it was the same motor as a toyota echo and I told him that I was pretty sure it was from the donut gasket at the outlet of the manifold and he said that the echo was really bad for that, that it was really frequent on echo's to get a leak from there..... So I got it fixed and its fine So your problem is there my friend well, I'm pretty sure hahah

As for your maintenance required light;
This is how you do it:
- Turn ignition from off to on while pressing in the odometer button (note: It must be in the mileage mode and not the Trip A or B mode)
- Hold the button in for approximately 5 secs. The odometer should flash "000000"
- Release the button
- Then when u turn the car back on, it should be gone....
