Default Gas Gage will not reset

I have the bBist gage, its not the original expensive one its the knock off. I figured the gage reset would be simple, pull the needle off and replace when the gas tank is full. Of course not, every time I move it to full it just falls back down to empty. I have tried it while the car is running and while its off, but can't get it to stay at full.

Does any one know if the issue is in my gas tank, do I need to get a new gage or do I need to complete some handy work on the gage?

Thanks!

A pic of the gauge may be helpful to see what it is.

I know on the regular xB dash round gauge cluster with the speedometer. I use to always move my gas needle to show less gas than it had in the tank for indoor car shows(Fire dept. indoor rule was only allowed 1/4 tank of gas) + move the gas needle to full when the car show was over LOL.

I did not remove the needle like you did. I only moved/turned the needle up or down + that method worked fine..

Try posting on clubxb.com with your question, if you don't get a better answer. Not many 1st gen xB owners on the Scion blog boards any more.

Good Luck.. let us know the out come
