Hey scion peeps,

Can anyone tell me if this will cause a problem with the installation?
It came to me this way and I would like to know if I need to straighten it before I install it.
You know that saying "get bent"?

Well someone must have told my header to do so. I dont know what happened, it came to me this way and I just want to know if it is a cause for concern.

just bend it back. it looks like you could fix it.

 

I can bend it back, but it probably wont be perfect. Does the doughnut gasket fit good enough to take care of any gaps?

I havn't done a header before.

I went to a performance shop, and they told me to take it to a muffler shop and get them to stick a pipe expander in it to fix it.
I dont wanna have to do that.

 

The doughnut gasket fits over that in into the downpipe/cat. It shouldn't leak, I say just bend it back and you will be o.k. Taking it to the muffler shop and having straightened out would be the better idea. If you are going to do it, do it right.

 

i say you return it for a new header. If it came to like that, then either the box had something heavy fall on it, or the people who made just don't make quality products. Just my 2 cents though.

 

It looks like somebody dropped the header, but probably didnt notice the bend before shipping.
I thought about that, but I really didnt want to go thru the trouble of shipping it back and then waiting for another.
I think I'd rather fix it.
I just hope it doesnt cost much for someone to pop it out with a pipe expander thingy.

 

WOW my boy brian just ordered a header with that EXACT bend in it.....hmm...yes it can be bent back, he did it.

It should only cost you a couple bucks at a muffler shop to have it bent back. It seriously takes less than two minutes.
