If you want the xB to be fast then you bought the wrong car. But if you really want to try you can probably to the following.

Aftermarket air intake, exhaust, lower springs, and make sure to paint that black so it'll make it feel faster.

Yeah, wrong car bud. This is a 110HP budget box.

That said.

The easiest way to make a car faster, is to make it lighter!

The next best way is to dump a ton of money into it and get
yourself a built up engine with forced induction.

You should be asking a speed shop this question, not a forum
by the way.

Lots of decals!!! Everyone knows that it's really the decals that make your car faster. Seriously, you bought the wrong car.

I lean forward when I drive. Plus I wear my newest sneakers!

Next? I'm gonna do the sticker thing.

a really big spoiler and a type R sticker will add at least 65hp

you could also try putting some v-tech stickers on the sides I hear thats a quick 4.5hp as well

sorry its just the anti rice in me coming out, but nothing wrong with adding a little more speed to your box if you got the $$$

How many thousands of dollars are you willing to spend to make a noticeable difference?

Suspension work (like lowering springs, coilovers, sway bars, frame braces & strut bars) only help in the sense they allow you to corner faster... but chances are what you want is more torque (accel).

so other than power adders like I/H/E (intake/header/exhaust) and sticking the the realm of naturally aspirated bolt-on mods... you are definately looking at lightening the car or lightening the components.

a lightened pulley and flywheel may be what you are looking for, though there are trade-offs. Lightweight wheel/rims is a pretty good bet if you were going to replace the stock steelies anyway. Lighter racing seats can save you a few pounds.... replacing the batt with something lighter could save a few pounds there too.. I'm sure there's plenty of other ways to shed pounds here or there.

What you guys are describing would make him quicker, not faster. In order to go faster about the only option is taller tires, this will make the tires move more ground than they are now. It throws the speedo off but will give you more top-end speed.

Until they come out with a better tranny with a different over-drive gear we are stuck to about 80 mph (4k rpm's) on the highway.

I agree with ss though, I wish the 1st gear didn't tach-out so darn quick.

You could try large tires in the back and small tires up front..that way you're always driving downhill.

i thought you said a real car

there's a few guys trying different things like headwork, forged internals, cam-con, as well as the tried-n-true intake/headers/exhaust

also the iffy on reliability forced induction.

get a lighter flywheel (assuming you drive stick) and the perrin lightened pully, short shifter, stronger clutch, light wheels and im sur eyou will notice a difference.

Drop it out of an Airplane.
I guarantee that it will go as fast as it is possible for an xB to go.
