Default How many miles did your original timing chain last?

I'm nearing 200,000 miles and I'm wondering how long the timing chain, tensioners, and chain guides last on these motors.
I use synthetic oil every 5,000 miles but the previous owner would sometimes go a year(unknown miles) on standard oil before changing the oil.

There have been several owners who have gone 200K+ miles with no mention of timing chain issues. Usually it's the tensioners that start to go and you'll hear noise...I wouldn't even think about replacing them until that point.

Your timing chain is probably fine. The inverted tooth type chain barely stretches when in an oil bath. As noted above, it's the chain guides that wear down. the rubber eventually cracks and flakes off.

Comment based on my '91 Suzuki 1100G which I looked at with 70K miles on the clock in 2010. Chain had barely stretched .020" over 6 inches of chain, but the guides had aged poorly.
When driving around town I keep the rpm around 3K and 5-6K on the freeway (with a few excursions to 10K) so the chain has been spinning nicely, just not wearing.
