Just Installed Injen Intake..

Install was pretty straight forward. You do need to remove the battery in order to get it to fit.
Don't really feel a difference on the street, but on the freeway throttle response is excellent and it does seem a little a faster.

And you get that nice rumble of the air being sucked up by the motor. Sure does sound like a RSX now.

Dude, now we need to install your exhaust. Whats up Daniel!!

scionara 11-03-2003 05:25 PM

KOMPLEX,

A cat-back exhaust system will definitely compliment the Air Intake.

TheRedBox 11-03-2003 05:28 PM

I actually got a chance to see the muffler and it was kinda banged up. Im not sure if i wanna get that one for cheap or just buy a new one. AHHHHHH.. how much for a manifold back?

LVXB 11-03-2003 06:32 PM

yeah im not sure why they didn't mention removing the battery its not like its a big deal to do. Of course if you had the front bumper off (as they did in the instructions) you probobly wouldn't think of the battery removal as necessary

That was also the first time i noticed we had panasonic batteries in the car, kinda cool.

TheRedBox 11-03-2003 07:21 PM

True that. They need to put that in the install directions. Or they can just tell us to remove the bumper.

"Wow all you have do is take off the bumper?!?!, I never knew installing a intake could be so easy"

LVXB 11-03-2003 07:29 PM

did you get the little sticker? i didn't. i dunno if id actually put it on but it would be nice to have.

in addition to nice sound and power upgrades wait untill you go to the pump! The milage difference is significant.

TheRedBox 11-03-2003 07:55 PM

NO!!! maybe i can request it when i send in my reg card. but i put on the license plate frame so i can get rid of the piercey toyota one!!! hahaahaa *sorry van*

yeah, but the stickers add 5 HP each!!! LoL

TheRedBox 11-03-2003 08:31 PM

get it straight. 5 WHP. 8)

scionracerxA 11-04-2003 05:40 AM

oops my bad, KOMPLEX

i forgot that it's supposed to be 5 WHP..... 8)

thanks for correcting me

TheRedBox 11-04-2003 04:38 PM

No prob. Now if we agree that the little injen sticker is worth 5whp i wonder what the huge modacar.com windshield banner is worth?? hmmmm

I did some hard driving last night, and I really can't tell a difference on the street til mid way through 3rd gear. It just sounds like the motor is breathing better, and that it's using a lot of gas.. Well there goes my fuel economy. At freeway speeds, uhmm i mean on the freeway  I did notice a difference however. Just wierd flooring it and not getting a strong pull. It sorta like its rolling downhill and gets faster and faster. Oh well, I could never fit all 4 wheels and all four tires all in seperate packaging in my other car anyways. :D

scionara 11-04-2003 04:45 PM

KOMPLEX - You're just used to a fast turbo car like your modified 400 WHP Eclipse that you don't see the difference on the xB with an intake. I think your body is used to that G-force you get when flooring your other car.

TheRedBox 11-04-2003 07:26 PM

it wasnt 400WHP 8) at least i feel the difference on the freeway. anyways its a great mod none the less and WAY BETTER than paying 300+ for a oh so special AEM intake

squirrel 11-05-2003 03:29 PM

yup, i luv my Injen short ram/CAI.

funny thing though, i've got the same problem now, as when I installed the CAI on my Matrix. i've developed a lead right foot!

KOMPLEX pm me for an exhaust setup. We need to open your ride a little more  And I know how to do it.

TheRedBox 11-05-2003 06:02 PM

Pmed you.

11-05-2003 07:49 PM

oh yeah, time to get power and still be legal. :D

TheRedBox 11-05-2003 09:05 PM

well see. i want to know if i can get the turbo motor from japan first..

sensez 11-05-2003 10:58 PM

you rich bastard*

so installing an intake would have a negative effect on mpg?

sorry for the Q...

i use to drive a saab spg and never installed a CAI...
so im clueless...
