Default "legal" Headers

I live in PA and i have to deal with the emissions BS when i get my car inspected. the next step on my car is to do a intake header and exhaust. I visted monstermotorworks.com and saw the package they have the xB and im really interested in it. but i dont want a hassel when its time to get my car inspected. does anyone have any experince with this header? or does anyone know of a header that is 50state legal or at least able pass inspection ins PA.

The DC header is legal in CA for 2004-2005 models at least.

http://www.dcsports.com/product_headers_app.asp

Not sure if legal for 2006. What are the requirements?

The header on xB's doesn't have anything to do with the emissions. There's no cat, nothing.

Youl'' be fine with whatever you choose.

after the header.

what I said is that there's no cat on the header. open your hood, look in the back. what you see is what's going to be replaced.

nope. this is the tC's because they have a cat in the header. we don't. which is what I've said 3x now.

IMO, a lightweight pulley will give you the biggerst gains.

Also, are you going with a 4-2-1 or 4-1 header?

The Monster Motor Works 4-2-1 header will utilize the stock heatshield.

There's a deal going on in the sponsored sales section where you can get it for $250 shipped.

the 4-2-1 will get you better low end.

Unless there is another group buy going on for the MMW 4-2-1, then that sale ended a few weeks back right after I got mine.

yeah, xB/xA header replacement will still keep you legal.

i have the Strup header, which doesn't use the stock heat shield, and it's 4-1 design, giving you a little bit of a mid-high range kick but at the loss of a tiny bit of low end.
i like it though. it's like mini-VTEC.

the MMW uses the stock heatshield. and improves the low end... i think the box needs more top end. is there any 4-1 that will use the heatshield? or am i jsut being paranoid about the linkage. what did you guys with out a heatshield do to protect yours?

nothing haha. the header is sitting there uncovered. no problems that i have heard from this. if you really are concerned about the heatshielding with a 4-1, then just wrap it in insulation material or custom fabricate your own heat shield.

well, that linkage cable applies only to the manual transmission people, which if you have, will be an issue for you, as the DC and Strup headers were designed on auto transmission xB's. thus, me having an auto, i don't have this problem.

most with the manual linkage cables said they ziptied them out of the way and/or wrapped them in heatshrink.
