Default Nut size on Belt tension arm?

Somewhere along the way I have lost the nut and washer where the belt tension arm connects to the engine block. See image below.
I know what size wrench to use to loosen/tighten this nut (12mm), but not what size it is to find a replacement by.

Any help identifying this nut is appreciated.

Just looking I'd say it's an M8 (8mm) but they come in two different thread pitches...best bet would be to buy an M6 or two and one each of the different M8 buts and try them. Couldn't run you any more than a buck or two.
