Oil sending unit adapter plate

I bought about a year ago an "AC" oil sending unit adapter plate. This is the unit that is sandwiched between the engine block and the oil filter with tapped holes that enable you to run a mechanical sending unit to an oil pressure guage.

This unit is either too thick, or the mounting bolt/screw/pipe is not long enough. I can get maybe two threads of it screwed onto the existing oil filter threads on the block.

I contacted the seller (can't remember the name offhand, doesn't really matter) and they contacted the manufacturer. Everyons said it should fit. It doesn't.

Does anyone know of another manufacturer of this part that DOES work? And where can I order one from?

i had the same problem so i sold mine and your right it is too thick or the screw adapter isn't long enough, i tried to find a slightly longer adapter at a NPT store but came up empty :(

i hear some ppl have success with a greddy oil sending unit adapter plate...

or a better way to do it is just tee it off at the stock oil sensor is at (which is under the intake manifold)

Anyone know if the glowshift oil sandwich plate is reliable?
I got the one for the tc.

doesn't fit either, same problem as mentioned above..

the plate is too thick and the adapter is too short, but the threads match (which is all glowshift really claims, if you read the fine print)
I'm stuck with mine too...

it looks like a solid unit, just teflon tape the plugs, and sending unit threads, should be straight.. as long as it actually fits

ive used the autometer sending unit on mine and now i switched to cyberdyne ( besides its my sponsor) and its fine. the best and easiest way is to remove the intake maifold, go tot the harware store and buy brass fittings so you can keep your factory and install the new one, that way your gauge will work and you wont have your oil light on from taking out the factory sender
