RS2 ehaust question

Alright, this IS a dumb question but i need to know. The RS2 of course comes with what scion says, a "DC Sports, sport tuned exhaust". Okay, well does that statement only mean cat-back, axleback? My question is.......is the exhaust header still OEM? Reason i ask is because i want to install a header just to improve sound.. But i don't wanna go through the trouble if it already has a 3rd party one. Also the note from the ehaust wants me to think it isn't.....or maybe the muffler is just that good alone!

lastly, if not. What's the best sounding header? I hear it's a megan racing header, but what do you think?

The sports tuned exhaust is an axleback, everything else is stock. The reason why it is so quite is because of the silencer insert in the exhaust tip. As far as I know it is removable.

ya, well i've had the silencer removed since i've had it. But the exhaust note sounds so good! That's why i was questioning.

without the silencer it'll fail or be borderline with cali's 95db law.

/\/\ NC has the same 95db law here, but its not really enforced too much.

must be nice. cops are on crack down around here

Any suggestions on a header? Keep in mine i just care about a deeper throatier tone.

I've heard the strup is good, but all the strup people rave about thier header/catback combo from strup like it was giving them orgasms. IMHO the dc sports, megan, and strup and all the other headers will change your tone a little, the will change your power and its characteristics VERY slightly, biggest difference is the price

FYI: The OEM Piece is called a exhaust manifold. Add-on part is called a header. Why, I don't know...

Thought this would be nice to share:
