Scion xB engine work
I have a 2006 Scion xB with an auto transmission and have already done some work on it. I have installed a K&N cold air intake, a throttle body spacer, Borla dual exhaust and Hotchkiss front tower brace. What I am trying to do is increase the power and performance, without killing the mileage. My next install is a header, which should be done in the next week, as well as the lowering springs, front frame brace, as well as center brace and Hotchkiss front and rear sway bar. The next "power" part I am looking into is a nitrous system. I don't want to kill the motor, so I thought that a 35 to 40 hp hit would probably be about right. What I'd like to know is, has anybody installed nitrous on their xB and if so, what type of system did you use? I was thinking of using a system designed for a motorcycle so as not to over-power the engine, plus I figured a smaller system would have a better spray, rather than chocking down a larger system to work with the 1500 cc motor. If anybody has done this, please let me know. Any infomation you can give would be greatly appreciated! Also, has anybody used these so called "adjustable chips" that tie into the intake temperature sensor? If so, which one did you use and how did it work? Thanks!!
