Default trouble shooting my xA's engine

At just over 438,000 miles, I started to lose power. Wouldn't go over 50.

Firing on 1 and 3 (poorly)
no spark on 2
spark and fuel but not firing on 4
compression tested out good
cam timing checks out good, so not a jumped chain

Prior to this, I was coding for cat and o2 sensor. Replaced o2, and cut just before cat just to see if it would run better. It still ran like crap.

So far, my possible answers:

1. Problem with the magnetic pick up on the crank
2. F'd up computer
3. Something really goofed with the fuel delivery
4. Car is just worn out and I should buy something new

Any ideas?

There is an oil leak at the front of the engine. Could that mess up the crank sensor?

Have you replaced the Coils?
If i recall correctly the XB1 and XA1 early on had issues with the Coils and causing issues like this..
If you pull the plugs, what color are they?
Do they have wet fuel on them?
If you yank the fuse for the fuel pump, and crank the engine with the plug out and grounded, do they spark a bright spark against the ground?
Are the plugs new?
Do you have them gapped correctly?

Can you post a picture of the front of the engine where you believe the oil is leaking from?

I'm guessing the coils.
If the pickup was bad then the engine would cut out completely. Ditto computer

The lads XB just turned 120K so your 438K is quite impressive - specially with good compression.

We had put iridium plugs in 60K miles ago and 10K ago regapped them. The iridium tip does not wear out, but the ground side wire does erode. I think that to keep the coils from burning out, you have to keep a close eye on the plug gap. The bigger gap requires more voltage for the spark to jump and judging by how fast it wears away the ground wire, I would say the coils are a bit too powerful.

I think over time, the coils destroy themselves if you don't keep the plug gap correct. Just my theory.
