VSC and Traction Control warning lights on

A friend of mine loaned me his ODBII reader for my wifes Taurus and he wanted to see if it would work on my 05 xB...long story short it doesn't read xB's. He ended up setting off the VSC and Trac Off warning lights. I purchase my own ODBII reader that is compatible with a Scion but no codes showed up, I later come to find out only a dealer can read VSC/Trac control trouble codes. Since I only need to clear the codes I wanted to see if there was some secret way to clear the warning lights before end up paying a dealer. Battery disconnect didn't work, OBD Reader didn't work either. Any other guess??? Thanks!

Any ODBII scanner should read your car - while I just got those same codes my scangauge showed P0012

No dealership should charge you to look at the codes especially if your still under warranty.

Read this just in case it's what you have:

I think opting for the cheaper trouble code reader is the reason it won't read any codes for the VSC. I guess I will bite the bullet and bring it in and mark it down as lesson learned, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Thanks!
