VVT valve change

VVT valve change
I made up the attached page for changing the camshaft timing oil control valve (VVT valve). I have a 2004 1.5l 1NZ-FE engine. The procedure is probably the same for many cars with this engine.
Extremely easy. Don't have to drain oil. Don't have to take off the plastic engine cover. After the valve is unbolted rotate it to the best position as not to break off the electrical connector and pull out the valve. Note: the bolt that holds the valve onto the engine is a soft metal. My torque wrench malfunctioned and I broke the bolt inside the engine block. Luckily there was enough room without removing the alternator to drill, EZ out and install a new bolt. Go easy as the torque is only 66 in lbs.
