What are some ideas for reducing weight and still be a daily driver.

That back seat is HEAVY. Maybe 80 lbs. I couldn't believe it. In my case, I took that out and then added like 500 lbs of stuff. But the savings from the back seat at least took some of the sting out of the whole conversion.

I gutted my box to sound deaden it prior to sound deadening and walling it (see my thread in ICE). At one point, the carpet, headliner, all the seats except the driver's seat, and all the rear plastic panels were out. The car was noticeably lighter. There was a significant amount of road noise with everything removed though. If its a daily driver. I don't think you would want to strip everything out like that. The back seat components do weigh a fair amount, especially if you remove the lower seat mounting bar, which is a good chunk of steel. If you're doing it for fuel economy, I'm not sure how much gain you'll actually realize...
