Default What Header is the best for the xb ?? HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

Does anyone have any oppinion on which header would be the best for the xB.

I hear problems with CEL light and having problems.ect. ?

I would like to purchase soon, I have DC Sports/ AEM in mind so far.

I have seen MEGAN Racing and thought it would be good....

Some i've seen don't show the bung for the factory O2 sensor...

Well thanks for your thoughts in advance !!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

i just installed my Strup header this weekend and love it, i dont think you can go wrong with most of the brans of headers

I happen to like Strup header & exhaust together but others im sure are just as good

I will say the Strup header + exhaust combo sounds mean! It sounds like im packing a ton of horsepower...of course im not lol

I was wondering if anyone wrapped their aftermarket header with "header tape", the stuff to reduce the heat. since the DC Sport is ceramic I don't think it would be needed but the othres that are steel might be a good Idea. plus you don't have to worry about discoloration.

I would go w/ Strup or DC. I have the DC header.

There is no O2 sensor in the xB header.

That's great thanks ! I never thought to look in there, but now i see the reason, the O2 sensor is in the exhaust pipe after the factory manifold !!

I couldn't get anyone to answer the question that sells these things.......They just don't know what they sell..

Ok......Now !! What's the deal with the stuff i read in here about getting a check engine light after installing a header? It seems a lot of brand names are causing this.

Is it something i can deal with and an easy fix ????

Thanks a million for your help.

I have the Strup and love it. Easy installation with absolutely no modifications or trouble (simple bolt in replacement).

I just installed the Alphawerks header and had no problems.
It works and sounds great, there are some things you should
know first.

One: the heat sheild will no longer fit with most headers
Two: the anti-vibration bracket that bolts from the block to the header/down pipe
location on the stock unit will need a fabricated "L" bracket if you
wish to continue using it on the headers I've seen.
Three: you should use a bracket or zip ties to reposition any rubber hoses
to close to the header.

All said and done it is worth it.

I just installed a MMW 4-2-1 on my sons XB and had neither issue above. Both heat shield and bottom bracket mounted back on header.

It may be the only one that comes with all factory mounts on header - I could be wrong though.

I believe MMW is a more of a low end torgue header, where most others go for mid and top end performance increases.

I have the MMW header and I love it. Easy install, has all factory holes for heat sheild and bracket, changed the sound of my exhaust (sounds meaner), really nice product.

If the heat sheild fits on the header then the curvature of the header
is the same or close to the original manifold. Are not the pipes supposed
to be a little larger, and definitely bent for a better flow?
That is how I understand the header gives the extra Hp.

There was a tread in classifieds - $220 shipped.

Maybe they will still honor it if it has expired? Call them and ask for ScionLife deal.
Ask for Ray

Here is the tread:
