What tranny fluid?

I'm getting ready to replace the tranny fluid in my xA and was wondering a couple things... I know that a lot of newer cars use ATF for their manual transaxles. I read somewhere that using a performance fluid would greatly improve the quality of my shifts. Should I go witha synthetic ATF from Royal Purple/Redline or use a higher viscosity synthetic gear oil? What weight would be the best? Would it be a negative to use a racing/hi-performance fluid? Thanks.

....If you can find MT-90....

Well said, Redline MT-90.
Easy to change and will feel like a new car transmission.
I will replace my tranny fluid every 30-40,000 miles.
No side effects or any problems of any kind.
Two quarts of MT-90 is what you need to fill tranny to the top
(just below the fill hole).

This is more fun than an oil change.
I had to order 2 quarts from autozone.

Red Line. Dyno tests showed about a 5hp increase in WHP on a 5.0 Mustang when oil, tranny lube and rear end lube were switched to Red Line. This was not in a Red Line ad.

I just put Red Line in my 06 xb at 1000 miles.
