Can the 1NZ-FE handle 200hp (approx. 160whp)?
Hi guys
I have recently bought a stock limited edition TRD Yaris TS Turbo. It comes with 150hp from the factory.
As far as I know, it is a stock 1NZ-FE with a bolt on turbo kit by TRD.
Engine and drivetrain is a completely regular 1.5 T-Sport.
Can this engine handle 30 to 50 hp more on stock internals? Is the factory turbo capable of this?
I want to do this as simple as possible and as reliable as possible. This is a daily driver.
I know a FMIC is a must. What else is needed?
Thank you very much and I hope this is in the right section.

No my friend! the max the stock engine can handle reliably is around 140 whp and no more than 170Nm of torque at the wheels. all this assuming that you have a good aftermarket turbo header , a 60mm exhaust and also a fmic. the stock trd turbo can reach 175whp but it will be near the choke line and will wear fast if continoiusly beat on it. if you want 175whp (200 crank hp) you need forged pistons and rods for the engine
