Greddy SC Dyno figures and Question Regarding Boost Levels??
Guys,
Just got finished installing the Greddy SC kit. First, let me say that I am happy with the overall results, but not ecstatic by any means.
Question, my boost gauge is reading 6.5 psi of boost max. However, when reading through the instillation instructions it states that boost should be 8.5 psi max (58.8kpa/6.9 = 8.5 psi). Having really tightened the belt down any idea why I’m loosing 2 psi of boost? I don’t want to tighten the belt any more as I am afraid it may create a problem with the E ring as per the installation instructions. The only thing I can think maybe limited the boost is the fact that the car has an air intake and Borla cat back exhaust system which may limit the boost because of turbulence or perhaps the gauge is off, but I doubt by this much?
We ran the vehicle before and after on the dynojet. It pulled 84 hp at the wheels for a baseline and after the SC install pulled 103 hp, an 18.5% gain. Greddy quotes a 23% gain in the installation instructions, so we are off by about 4.5%.
What level of boost are other members running this kit seeing with the supplied belt? Does 6.5 psi max seem correct? Any recommendations on how to correct this and gain the missing 2 psi?
