Hi, I have a 06 Release Series 4.0 xB, I love the car but have decided to get more out of it. I'm thinking about adding a Turbo. I'm not looking to run it hard it just want more power and would like to keep it as driveable and problem free as possible. I just have a few questions. Can the stock motor handle a mild Turbo without mods, will it last? What can I expect the cost range to be(I'll be doing the install myself). Any recommendations on a kit. In a related note, can the ECM be reprogrammed to give me some more power safely while I put together the cash and plan for the kit? And lastly, I find the gear ratio, particularly 5th to be way short, it would be nice a taller 5th or even a 6th gear, can the tranny accommodate a taller gear or is there a 6 speed tranny swap that fits. I'm an old muscle car guy and have built may V8 1/4 mile cars but this is my first stab at something like this and any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.
