2005 Scion xB Horn & Alarm Not Working
Hi Everyone! I searched to make sure this topic wasn't discussed in another thread and I was unable to find it, so if I missed it I apologize.
I have a 2005 Limited Edition xB and about a year ago my horn stopped working and the sound on my alarm as well. When I lock or unlock my doors using the key switch the flashers will blink and I hear a clicking but no actual alarm sound.
I have checked all the fuses and everything else I can think of but to no avail. If someone could offer some insight on this issue it would be appreciated. I am cringing at the thought of how much the diagnostic will cost if I take it to the dealership!

not sure if the limited addition has some special alarm in it but the horn is the panic button alarm and if your horn is not working then it's just a horn problem. I would start at the horn under the hood first with the wiring to it and then the horn relay ... have you checked the fuse and breaker relay panel under the hood?

Hi Jan, Yes, I have checked all the fuses under the hood and under the steering column and they are all fine. I don't know if I have anything special about the horn or not but when the horn stopped working so did the alarm sound.

Next thing to check is to listen to the horn up close for any sounds when someone presses the horn button or when you press the panic button on your remote. If it makes a clicking sound then it is getting power and just not vibrating and you can just buy another horn. Cost at Autozone is from about $30 and up depending upon what type of horn you might want.
Another simple test would be to take the wire off of the horn and jump it with another wire to the positive terminal of the car battery and see if it beeps. That would eliminate the horn right away as the problem.

Horn not working
the horn is not working from the steering wheel. It sounds when you push the panic button. I checked the fuse and relay they seem fine. I think it's a clock spring but I can't find one for an 05 just 06 is the earliest. Confused?
