How do you splice the power? I would really like to do this with my xB.

I've already got some power for my current cathodes from the "green" wire near the transmission. Can it be spliced again? I dont want to blow it.

I'm not familiar with that particular wire, but I'm running all 4 of my cathodes off of one switch/ one wire and no problems. Shouldn't have any problems (someone correct me if Im wrong)
Just make sure you have an in-line fuse as close to the power source as possible. This will keep you from frying anything if you short it accidentally

I plan on using the same positive wire I currently have for my cathodes to power my Grab Handle LED's that I will be installing. I like the brightness of the Cathodes in the handle, but want to be able to use the handle and NOT feel the cathode. So I will be modding mine sometime.
I'll try and post pics when I do. Hopefully in a couple weeks.

This is so tempting, but my passengers actually use the "Jesus!" bars.

I could probably carve enough material out of the handle though to make it work.

My thought is to run a line of LED's in the handle after you carve out the center re-inforcement rib. I carved mine out and you have about 1/4 of an inch to work with, which is plenty to run some LED's
That way the LED"s will be recessed enough to still use the handle

Which wire are you pulling the power from? And what other supplies will I need?

Everything you need to know is right here. The only thing I did differently is that I used double sided tape to install the cathodes under the dash, so that I wouldnt have to drill through my dash.

I've read through the DIY on the Cathodes and decided to just use Randode's kit for that. But for this I feel alot more comfortable doing this my self.

I just got when surfcitylocal wrote "I chose to splice my with butt connectors to the existing power/ground leads for the under dash LED's. Remove the center kick panel and you'll find those wires or use the lighter leads. "

I don't know which wire he's talking about. Also, in those pictures I see the red and black wire. I have that but it is very short. Where can I get a longer one? The power is the only thing I dont understand.

Also, where does the switch come from? I already have a "rocker switch" in my car, I want to use the switch that is between the two passenger seats.

you are going to have to remove the center console and look underneath at the rocker switch, Is it in use or not, if not you can run a positive wire from the fuse box to the switch, from there run the positive to wherever you want and splice the cathodes into it.
YOu have to run a ground wire too and ground it to a metal bolt somewhere in the vehicle, your choice. I used the one that holds the hand brake down. its all in the instructson on that thread. Print it out and study it. Thats what I did.

Another note: SAVE YOUR CA$H by going to www.oznium.com and get their cathode kits. You can get a rocker switch from the hardware store
Ozniums 12" cathodes are $6.49 a pair! Quality product and great Customer service. I already got a couple kits from him.

Alright, I have looked through a bunch of tech articles on installing cathodes and such but haven't really found the one bit I really want to know. How would I go about wiring up these lights so they come on with the dome light?

Basically what I want to do is mount under dash, under seat, and the oh sh#$ handle lights, and have them all turn on when you open the door, or turned your dome light on. Down the road, I may also be interested in LEDs in the vents that would work the same, but have those wired so I could turn them on or off with a switch. I am no wiring expert, so this may be something that is way over my head, so any advice is appreciated. Also I apologize now if this has been answered elsewhere, I just couldn't find it.

I would think you would splice into the dome light switch wires in the headliner.
