Well right of course you don't need to purchase a high output alternator if you have no system and your current alternator doesn't have to work harder than it was designed to. What about those people with a decent sized system whose alternator is about to crap out on them cuz they've been ******* it for so long??? Anyway, if you have to be TALKED into buying a bigger alternator, then obviously you don't know whats good for you and you will just have to live with your choices!!! People who know what's up don't need to be talked into it so I won't even try.

just curious if someone on this thread can answer this question for me. i am doing my big three uprade and have done two so far, the alternator to the battery is the one im stuck on. i want to upgrade that wire but the factory wire goes into that red box that goes to that battery, can i bypass that without it staying hot? i wanted to run 1/0 ga wire from the alt to the bat, do i need to put a fuse in that line? really what do i do to upgrade it thanks guys.

Something tells me that your idea of a decent sized system is a little more than most people! Most folks that are real DB fans already know this stuff. If you don't know the basics of high current systems, you probably don't have one!

you can just add the new cable
or take apart the "black box"

while you are at it, get yourself a nice set of battery terminals
better connection and it is an easy dress-up a lot of people forget
given the distance, 1/0 gauge is overkill, but what the h3ll, it'll look serious

I have been watching this thread for a while now I have to say that there are a few people that have posted here that really could get some use out of a good alternator.

good luck with that
i guess the price of greatness and reliability is too much for the average Scion owner
contact the company listed in the beginning of the post

i already did that

it is a shame that more xb owners cant see the inherit benefit of having one of these

maybe if they had a carbon fiber shell and color changing led's lol

I priced a replacement Denzo alt. and it was only $225 plus core. HO one shouldn't be triple that. It'd be cheaper to try and add a second stock unit to double the output.

Question for the experts:

So I'm rumbling down the freeway with the windows open and my system cranked up for my daily 25 minute commute; my system is 1150W and I have a single farad cap (hypothetically speaking because my stuff isn't installed yet but this situation will be a reality soon)...

For my application do you foresee problems using the stock alternator? My longest drives are typically 45 mins - 1 hr.

Thanks.

Hey guys I have the 200 amp by this company and it turned out to be great. I will recomend them and they are less than $400.00. Check them Out. You could talk to the owner personally and he will explain everything. Excessive Amperage 1-334-712-9955. As a Matter of fact I paid $345.00.

I contacted EA too and got a price of $390 which is still much better than the group buy price here.. How are you liking it so far? I am gonna call next week and see if I can pull it off for $345

breaks down like this

1-5 units $799

6-15 units $749

16-25 units $699

26-50 units $599

not bad at all, if there is enough demand (enough people with money and willing to spend it)

NEED SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY

i can set up a week for ordering, that is the longest window he can leave open for orders to get the discount

after that the alternators will be shipped out first come first serve
there will be a two week build time for the alternators
he will ship individually so shipping will be the only variable in price

talk to JOSH at HOAlternators if you are intersted in this
or keep this post alive, i will give him the link to show our intentions

http://www.highoutputalternator.com/index.htm
I have one of these in my scion and it kept me at 13.9 volts while my rockford t30001bd was at full power

its amazing!
