Default Installing an Aftermarket Radio

I have a '05 xA and I'm trying to add an aftermarket stereo to it. Nothing fancy, but the CD player in the original does not work and it does not have Bluetooth, so adding a stereo that does. I ordered a stereo that said it is compatible and I purchased the wiring harnesses. One problem, the Scion compatible harness has 4 wires, two green and two purple, the aftermarket stereo harness has 8 wires, green, purple, white and grey, 2 of each, one with a black stripe, same as the connector harness. Have tried several different variations and cannot get the front speakers to work. Any ideas?

sounds like you may not have the right harness.
