Jack Location?
I was checking out my trunk and i found my
spare....lug wrench and other tool but.... no jack is there some hidden location it might be in or did i get stiffed since i got my car used THanks |
its under the drivers seat.
^^^.....under the plastic cover.
Haha, yea. Doesn't that suck? I felt like such a moron after I found it.
I feel bad for the poor person who gets stuck looking for the jack when they actually need it! ...being stuck on the side of the road with a flat, having the spare tire and tire wrench in hand, yet unable to change the tire because you can't find the jack! Man, that would suck!
i know that a few years ago in my bop box i was like wtf were is the jack and 10min later i found it at least i was in the parking lot at work
This is the kind of stuff you would learn if you took 10 minutes to read that little book that comes with the car.

I bought my xB used without an owners manual too and was wondering what the huge eye bolt next to the lug wrench is for. Also is there an electronic version of the owners manual floating around somewhere? I've searched but cannot find.
Yeah, I had to read the manual to find my jack, neatly hidden underneath that driver seat.. if you're gonna be doing any numerous amount of jacking (pervs), need to buy a floor jack, that thing is a beast on the hands.

I bought my d's new - in 2010. 216,000 miles and today is the first time I needed the jack. Sure, I read the book - back then. Don't think it's fair to expect me to remember! Thanks to the one HELPFUL reply I found my jack. I was ready to accuse my shop of stealing it. "Under the seat" is not an obvious place to look. Now, if only I can figure out how to get the thing out! |
The jack is expanded into its bracket under the seat. Reach in and turn the eyelet and it will loosen from bracket.
