Default Line Driver / Equalizer/ Crossover

Wondering if anyone has used this or any other combination Line Driver / Equalizer/ Crossover. I was thinking that this might allow me to unlock some unused power in my amp by delivering cleaner sound (w/ the 13v line driver). Would this allow me to turn up the gain a bit due to less noise down the line? Also, the idea of a simple and accessible equalizer is cool.

The one I am considering is the Audio Control THREE.1 In-Dash Equalizer / Crossover w/ line driver. Anyone have experience with this one or any other they could suggest? Below is the specs and picture.

*4 Band Stereo Graphic Equalizer with Para-BASS
*Subwoofer Level Control
*13 Volt Peak Line Driver
*Switchable Backlight Illumination Color (Green or Amber)
*Balanced Differential Inputs and Outputs for Maximum Noise Rejection
*4 channel 2-way 24 dB/octave electronic crossover
*High Headroom PWM Switching Power Supply
*Master Volume Control
*Front / Rear Fader
*One-half DIN size chassis

I use Audio Control EQL its a 13 band 1/3 octave equalization pc, w/9 volt line driver, 24db x-over slope on the subwoofer and 18 db x-over on the mids nd highs. it is also a trunk mounted pc.

13 bands of eq will certainly be enough to turn down what you have too much of, NOT turn what you don't have enough of UP.

you'll be much better off w/13 volt line driver than my 9 volt however it depends on the quality of the output signal of your head unit. in otherwords if your using a Eclipse head unit you'll hear more of a difference then say your average 300$ pioneer unit. however what happens is the line driver allows for higher output voltage signal so your amplifier sees a greater and cleaner signal path. Thus making the amplifier work LESS harder. making it more effecient, you may confuse this for being little less louder when actually its just cleaner.

i don't like dash mounts for my customers. it cause them to play to much and destroying there equipment or there sound Q. Set it, tune it, Leave it...!!!

Also, your amplifiers gain is not a volume control. If your amp is rated at 75x2. NO MATTER how much you turn the gain UP or DOWN its still 75x2. the gain allows you to level match with the headunits output voltage. (alow for more distortion. A good amp thats matched to your speakers power levels and input voltage you'll notice that the speakers will get quite loud but hardly move... thats what you want. if the speakers moving back and forth violently you either have poor speakers or amplification with no control. you can take everything beyond **** if you want. feel free to pick my brain anytime. i can talk audio for days but that will be way to much to type...lol kinda been called an Audio snob before, not sure if that was good or bad.
