Location of Blower Motor Resistor in 2005 xA

I believe that y blower motor resistor has bitten the dust. I know it's behind the glove box, but where exactly is it and how do I get to it to remove it and put a new one in?

Remove the ECM (above pass feet) then you'll see the resistor. The connector has 4 wires: Blue/Black, Blue/Yellow etc.

Let us know, though, if that fixes the issue. I've had to have Toyota replace the blower in my 06 xB four times--all under warranty--because the blower itself has died. As my car comes off of warranty, I'm curious as to if it is the resistor in your case.

Thanks, and good luck!

Damn, I took 3 tries and completely removing the entire dash to figure this out, damned misleading PDF Manual.

BTW mine was opened (electrically), so I resoldered it and it working fine so far

Hey I am trying to change the resistor on my scion xa 2004 and I unscrewed the ecm but could find the resister anywhere. I put back the ecm in its place. Can someone help me on how to change it and where is it.
Thanks

The resistor block is behind the ECM and mounted horizontally. The plug and mounting screws comes into it vertically if that makes sense. Its directly behing the ECM, and up close to the firewall. The best way to see it is actually laying down in the floorboard of the passenger side... that or grab a mirror and tilt it 45 degrees to see whats up in back of the ECM area.

WOW man! I took off the ecm again and finally found it all the way in the back. I replaced it and now everything is working perfectly fine. Thank you so much for your help!
