Default My new system is in the mail

These are always teaser posts but im excited so i fugure ill share with you what i got since my fiance isnt all too interested.

JL 300/4
JL 250/1
Alpine Type R 10" sub
Alpine Type X 6.5" comps in front
Alpine Type X coaxials in rear
Pioneer 8600 deck (already installed)
Possibly a second batt if i can find a good place

Thats it. Pluss some dynamat

Im going to build another floor and put the amps on that then have it built up around them and then some grille mesh to go on top them so i can still throw stuff in the back and not worry about the amps. Plus ill be able to still keep my spare and extra storage compartments built into the floor.

For the sub im going to build a fiberglass box for it into the drivers side rear panel so itll look nice and stealthy.

On the pass side rear panel im going to put the 2nd batt (hopefully) and the Xovers for the front speakers on some sort of panel.

Im doing all the work so im hoping it wont take too long (ugggh)

Ill post pics on my site as i go (listed below)

My goal is to keep complete fuctionality of the car but still have the sound that i want (clear, clean, and get loud on occasion). Im sure your wondering why dual batts, i love going to the drive ins and not have to worry about having a dead batt or have to keep starting my car during the movie. Plus i have a yellow top just sittin in my garage.

I CANT WAIT! lol

Sounds like a decent setup. Personally not a fan of Alpine's speakers (subs or components) because I like SQ. Great choice o the JL's. One thing though, you do know that ordering online you'll get no warranty on the JL product right? Their site has a disclaimer that ways they do not warrant online sales, nor do they authorize them. www.jlaudio.com Just a warning in case the site said they'd warranty it.

Oh, also, make sure that you put the battery in a sealed box, as it emits a chemical that can become toxic to you.

Yeah im aware of the warranty wich sucks but ive never had a prob with bad amps so ill take my chances. It is a little worrisum tho. As for alpine comps, i know there is better but the next thing that sounds good to me is a $600 set of bostons which i cannot afford. Ive heard the alpine typr rs and liked them so im hoping the type xs will sound just as good.

good to know about the battery, im still doing my research on it as far as having it in the same cabin as me. I will make some sort of enclosure for it but my only argument is that some cars have their main batt in the trunk and even sometimes under the rear seat. So i dunno know.

If you're going with a battery inside the vehicle go with an optima or other gel/sealed battery. No fumes that way. Most automobiles with stock batteries inside the passenger compartment or trunk area use a vent tube to release the fumes outside of the vehicle.Non-acid batteries do not have this problem.

You still need to build a box around an optima and vent it outside. Or any other sealed battery for that matter.

definitely take lots of pix for a writeup on your sub box Most of my system waiting to be installed (have yet to buy the Eclipse 2435), mostly because I haven't decided exactly where I'm going to install my amps. I'm planning on doing a box on the passenger side compartment. Keep us informed to how it turns out

IC, because i see in plenty of installs that have loads of optimas in the car and it seems ok. But i dont want to kill myself either. Some people say its ok some say not. It will be partitioned off but not airtight. ill run some sort of vent tube if i do not have any probs doing it.

Thanks for your reply

i'll get that together this weekend. I was just looking at the pix i took...some of them did not come out well, b/c the camea operator (not me) was an idiot She was clearly more interested in art, than a technical writeup. Anyhow, i'll snap the replacement pix this weekend,
and do the writeup

I have all Alpine in my car and you can't beat the Sound Quality ... Good choice on the TypeX speakers ... I have the 10" Type X sub and its amazing ... The only change I would make to your set up with me the headunit ... Im not a fan of Pioneer eqp. Other then that you got a awsome syatem comming in!

You won't need a battery ... My friend is pumping 2,000 watts to 4 12's and 500 watts to his mids and high PLUS 4 tvs and he never had a problem with headlights dimming or car shutting down he has a xB and the factory battery and alternator and nothing else ...
A battery won't hurt but you wont have problems if you don't have it ...

oh good, yeah ive never been a huge fan of alpine until recently. I like the stuff they are putting out right now. Id like to get the type x sub but it is really deep and i think ill have a prob fitting it where i want to put it. As for the 2nd batt, i only want to do it for the fact that i can run my system for 4-5 hours without having a dead batt. Ive done that a few times *quite embarrasing*. But for everyday use i know i wont need it, the amps look to be VERY stable. Im gettin stoked. i hate getting stuff online cause i have to wait for it to come in *no patience here*. oh well itll be good when i get it! Oh and as for the HU, i like it alot but its a leftover from my last system and until i decide what im gonna get for good, im going to use it. I really want video in the dash, i like the eclipse unit alot but im an XM aholic and as far as i know eclipse only supports sirius. The kenwood is another option but i want navigation built into the unit.
