New gauge face and speedo/tach swap. Thanks Jason!
I made an early morning trip from Huntington Beach to Canyon Country this morning to have my speedometer changed by Jason Night of Xclusive Scions. His company Custom xB Gauges puts out some great gauge faces. I have been running one of his for about a year and have had lots of great comments on it.
It was time for a change so I had Jason make a new face for me and while he was at it, he changed my speedo to my tach and my tach to my speedo! What an awesome mod. Here are some pics and a video showing the new look.
Thanks Jason for all the hard work and for letting me barge in on your Sunday morning. Mahalos!
Heading for Canyon Country

Removing the gauge housing and assembly

Remove the three gauge needles and the faceplate

Remove the wiring harness plug from the back of the gauge housing

Remove the screws and tabs holding the back of the gauge housing assembly on

Remove the wiring leads from the circuit board being careful not to damage the connector or the board

When the leads are disconnected it will look like this

Using a razor blade, separate the two end leads on the left and right of the wire ribbon

Swap the middle sections over each other and reinsert the wire ribbon

If done correctly it will look like this...the pretzel wire mod

Installation is the reverse of the removal. This is how the new speedo face and gauge swap looks...HAWT!

Here's a video of the new tach location

I'm diggin' it!
Many thanks again Jason for doing this swap. You ROCK!
