Default Pioneer radio aux in 2006 scion

Guys,

I have a 2006 scion xa with a pioneer radio that is a 2004 without aux button to change. I have hooked up the PIE TOY03-AUX2 adapter that splices out the xm. I have the radio unit with sat/fm/disc/am. I Have tried to hit sat twice and disc twice to activate iPhone connected by 3.5mm to RCA adapter. I get nothing. Do I have to be hooked up by lightning jack on phone to work? Or should the headphone jack work? Will I have to upgrade head unit? I bought this adapter because I heard it would work on forums and such. Now I get nothing
Any ideas please?

Default FIXED!

Well I am dumb

FYI... It was the DIP switch inside the PIE Adapter that was set on CD changer and NOT satellite. I switched it to satellite and now it picks up by pressing SAT Button on the radio
