Questions on amp/sub operation

I HAVE A JL AUDIO 500/5 AMP INSTALLED IN MYCAR THERE IS SUBWOOFER CHANEL RATED AT 250 WATTS RMS. I AM THINKING OF PURCHASING A 10" KICKER L7 SUB TODAY, THE DEALER SAID 250 WATTS WILL BE MORE THEN ENOUGH TO RUN THE SUB.... IS THIS TRUE ??? I WANTED TO CHECK AND SEE IF ANYONE ON THIS FORUM COULD HELP ME BEFORE I MAKE THE PURCHASE SINCE THE DEALER HAS A NO RETURN POLICY AFTER INSTALL .... ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANX :D

be sneaky, connect the sub and set it in the box but DON'T SCREW IT IN!!! unless its already mounted, then play the hell out of it he cant tell i don't think! if it pounds, then ur good if not trade that l7 for the apparently "overpriced" 10w6v2 other than that idk what to say...i'm not sure of the power needs of the L7 but i do know that all jl stuff is sed to be underrated....i have a feeling the 250watts from that amp will be sufficient

I have been trying to find some info on the l7's, and everywhere I look I see 75 - 600 watts rms... I would reccomend something that does 600 rms for that sub. or look into subs that only require ~250 rms
