Remote wire to the Stock Headunit..xB

hi... im trying to install my 12 inch sub and pioneer amp to my stock headunit.. so far i have all the connectors connectd and the line out converter to the rear speakers. my concern is i can get the amp to turn on.. im looking for the remote wire source and i was told to the use the "gray" wire on the blue plug. that is the plug that gives the HU its power.. but it wont seem to work.. also my ground is connected betwwen the two nuts on the lr strut.. do u think that there is my problem.. that its not grounded correctly? please let me know.. i have tried too many things and im getting pretty agrivated.. thanks

Since you are using a stock head unit there is no amp turn on wire like on an aftermarket radio, so you have to use a switched 12v wire, best off the stock head unit cause your already there, to turn the amp on. As for the ground i wouldnt recomend the strut as a grounding point find a nice piece of metal scrape or shave the paint off till you get to shiny metal and use that as a grounding point, you will get way better results, Good luck...

Yes a toggle is sweet for turning the amp on and off. Also, a good ground is the bolts for the rear seat. They go right into the chassis.
