Default ?'s for our Stereo system Installers

Here's what I got to work with Alpine Amp 200 RMS at 4 ohms and 350 RMS at 2 ohms. The (ONE) Sub is an Audiobahn 300 (approx. RMS) dual 4ohm.
First question, I would like to know if they are compatible?
Also would like to know how I should wire for best sound quality and so I don't blow the speaker and amp. I would like to wire the amp-speaker so it's 350 RMS at 2 ohms but not sure how to do this.
If you have a link to a diagram that you would suggest, that would help out a lot. Because I know that it's hard to explain this type of stuff to....well people not familier with this type of thing.
Thanks for any help you guys (or girls) can provide.

I am assuming that you have the Alpine MRD-M300. It will be enough to run that sub. When adjusting the gain make sure that you do it with the volume on your radio close to 80% of max volume.

I would suggest a bass ****. It will help out a lot. that way you can have more control of your sub/amp combo. This would be the best one, cause it will work directly with that amp.

Someone has to know something that can help me out??
Even if you think you know but are not sure, it would help to have another persons opinion.
I am not going to hold anyone responsible if my system doesn't work because of advice given.
I accept full responsiblity.

Hey Jason,
I have a MRPM350.
Do you still think it will be fine?
It's not as powerful (i think) as the mrdm300.
So is it the way I wire the speaker that determines how many ohms the amp will use/have?
Or is it how the wires are connected to the amp?
Hey thanks for your help.

Yes, you should be fine. That amp should have no problems pushing that sub.

since your one sub is 4 ohms, it does not matter how you wire it, unless you have 2 subs to bridge down to 2 ohms or a sub that is rated at 2 ohms.
if you want ungodly bass, get another sub and wire it up as follows, connect the speakers, wire spk 1 + to spk 2 -, spk1 neg to neg on amp, spk 2 + to amp pos. this will give you a 2 ohm bridge. the type of bass achieved is mono. stero bridge required 4 speakers at 4 ohms,

6 ohms like JL takes 3 subs to get down to 2 ohm
6 subs to make a 2 ohm stereo bridge.

He's got a dual 4, parallel the coils together and you will get 2ohms. Pistons explaination seems right. Although I have no clue about the amp if it is 2ohm stable in mono or not. You could have a thousand subs in the car, its not going to give you anymore power then what the amp is rated at in 2 ohms.

But to get the best performance out of the sub, build the enclosure the manufactores SPEC. If you want low extention go with a ported box. It will give you +3 dB's.

Yeah that alpine mono block can handle a 2ohm load. We install that amp alot cause of its bang for you buck! And with your DVC Subs you can go either 8 or 2ohms.

Hope this helps!
