Satellite Radio
Does anyone have after market satellite radio installed in their tC? I know the radio says "SAT Ready", but I'm not 100% certain what it is compatible with. I'd like to get Sirius for it...you can get the Pioneer Tuner and Antenna for $99.95 (even less on eBay). I just want to be sure that it will work before I buy it.
Also, if anyone has any tips on installation or where to mount the antenna, that would be helpful too.
Thanks!

I have XM radio, and the tuner/ant cost me about 180 shipped from ebay. However, that tuner was for an aftermarket Pioneer unit, not the stock Pioneer.
My antenna is on the passenger's dash up by the windsheild (XM micro antenna). Easy to run the wire to the tuner from there...especially if you have the tuner behind the head unit like I do! Lots of room back there!

The factory Pioneer headunit (T1804) in the tC is proprietary - meaning that a hard-wired tuner won't work because there is no IP bus connector on the back of the headunit. If you want satellite controlled by your stock headunit, you're stuck with getting satellite radio parts from Scion (either XM or Sirius). Doing so will run you near $300. Better off going aftermarket...and no, it doesn't have to cost you a fortune.
As for the antenna, I have mine sitting right next to the regular radio antenna on the right rear fender like many folks here. It just takes a while routing the wire but not that tough. I'll be posting a write-up on it soon.
