Just a ssuggestion, guys, but EVERYONE who has had any sort of problem with the electronics in an RS3, especially the screens, should be sure to let Scion corporate know so that the can get better visibility of a potential problem, and come back with a TSB on it if necessary. It worked for the early 2006 head units strangly jumping up 2MHz at random (there is now a TSB on that problem).

Scion: 1.866.70.SCION.
That's (886) 707-2466

I am having a problem as well with the screens. all stock stereo equipment with the RS 3 and I can only power one screen at a time. if I turn on both screens then they both go out. I will be taking it to the dealer soon.

I just delt with this same problem with my rs3. My screens would power off ramdomly, until finally they would not power on at all, This is with the factory head unit, nothing has been changed! I took it to Toyota to warranty and they said the control moduel was bad and the warranty did not cover that? But they would contact Visologic to see what they would do. Well I finally got it fixed warrantied, and the monitors power on, and stay on, for now ! But now the radio won't reconise when i plug in the ipod, can,t play my itunes through the radio now! Well now I'll be bringing it back there to fix that! Damn factory defects!!!

Well I took back my xB back in to have the ipod problem looked at and they replaced the cable, Now my husbands nano works with the radio, but mine still doesn't, they don't believe it ever worked because thay say that my my ipod is a diffrent version that is not compatable with the radio? The only problem is it worked before with this radio. Maybe cause I updated it? Has anyone else had a problem with an ipod not working reguarding the version???

Tell them to check the control moduel, mounted on the passanger side outer wall under the dash next to the glove box, that's what fixed mine, good luck!

hey all you rs 3.0 owners with monitor problems I have the same car and one of my freinds does too no problems here but I did notice when I removed both of our xm radios that the monitors power supply wires where t taped into the cig lighter behind the dash yes t tap well these are ok connection and do work well when installed correctly. I try checking there for faulty connection for thoose with power issues.

Don't let them push you around, they don't what to take the blame, and will try to use any excuss to void the Warranty. The service manager don,t know anything they did,t even believe me when I told them that the monitors came with the car, it was up to me to prove it. see if you van talk to the diagnostic technition. and have them call visologic, that who makes the moduel that you took the picture of. Visologic, had no problem send the dealership another one, Also visologic has addimmited to the tech that they have had alot of issues with this faulty part. My car was stock so they could not blame me, even though they tried to get out of it by saying they don't warranty non toyota parts. Its not my problem that they choose to put that particulicar part, then they should have chosen better quality. Anyway ypu could alway put it back to stock and take it to another dealership to see what they'll do!
If all else fails you can contact scion customer servive matter with any issues you have, their info in your owners manuel. they are big on customer service, under the seat might be the control unit my husband has a pioneer in dash screen and he has one of them too. They checked that on my car and no problem there. Good luck

the picture on the bottom is the xm radio reciever the top on well ill have to look at mine tonight when the wife gets home. To explain a T Tap it is a wire connection that taps an existing wire by splicing into the wire sometimes they work when installed wrong when insrtalled right the work for ever the wire connections for the module are located T taped behind the cig lighter in order to check this out you will have to remove the dash around the radio by removing the 2 screws under the ac ***** then remove the lower pannel where the cig lighter is.

well after a year i got head rest fixed they replaced only one part.they did say that they couldnt replace one part because i tap into the one wire to get my after market headunit to run the wireless head phone.i wonder since most people got the wire replaced it may cause the problem again.i dont see how since its a av wire well i will wait and see.

everybody that is having this problem should contact scion, the guy i spoke to said that if there is enough feedback it might prompt them to do a recall.
