i know when you hit the keyless entry button and do not open the door for like 30 seconds it automatically locks itself...
but say you turn off the engine...
and step out of the car... and shut the doors..
will it then automatically lock the doors?...

just freaking out cuz sometimes i forget if i locked the tC or not when i go to school..
So i run all the way downstairs to the parking lot to double check and hit the keyless entry button to lock... only from 100 feet away...

Is there anyway to increase the range of the keyless entry lock/unlock/panic buttons?

 

i dont have a tc but i dont think my xB locks unless i lock the doors manually or with key. for distance i think you would need an aftermaket alarm that has better distance or the ability to call it from a cell phone. circuit city sells car alarms that you can call and lock or unlock doors, roll windows up/down, start or shut offcar, and whatever else it can do.

 

try changing your batteries. I was actually surprised how far my alarm caught. As far as if it locks or not I dont check...

 

IIRC, yes its normal. Its a saftey thing. If you lock the doors with the key fob then unlock them with the key fob, they will auto lock your car again if the door is not opened with in 30sec. Its for those times that you unlock the car & just in case some one starts talking to you, it makes sure no one is getting in.
