Default ToplesstC, our audio/performance mods are finally started:)

We finally got around to stripping the car down so we can start deadening, wiring, alarm install, etc, etc. The roof is out, all in one piece so we can start working out how to have a CF roof made for it.

Not counting the nuts, many of them, and the wiring, the rest of the roof weighs in at 61.5 lbs, not as bad as we though it would be. But, when you pick up something that awkward to weigh it there seems to be alot more mass than that.

Mounted up on the top of the car it has a very detrimental effect on handling, we will probably lose 50 lbs with the new roof, now just have to find somebody to make it for us.

We can probably get several companies interested if we can get at least ten on order.

We were hoping to find that all three pieces of glass bolted in and thought at first they did but the rear section is glued to the frame We were thinking of having all three glass pieces made of CF so anybody could install them, did not work out that way. We were then going to take out the tracks and motor, etc, for our car but others could still use theirs.

should feel a little faster

Hey Rick -- I'm on ECA and met you at the Rainbow booth at CES a few years back.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the progression of your project.

It sits about 2" taller right now, lol! Our coilovers are due in on Monday, will sure need them now

Not going to drive it for some time to come, I drove my Matrix like that quite a bit though, sure fun!

AP is the color, all the lights in the shop made it hard to tell and that was after photoshoping it a bit.

Fun eh????

I have torn many cars down to this and beyond, this is one well built car indeed, very pretty inside.

Dave Coleman and his buddies had some great fun on that project, way back in High School my buddy and I did it to the car he inherited from his Grandmother, his dad kicked me out and kicked his **** hard for that one, lol!

No idea on the cost yet, I am making some calls tomorrow to see what I can dig up, if we had ten or so we could probably do this very resoably in a GB. If nobody will do if for us, we will figure it out ourselfs but I really do not have that kind of time, just want it bad enough to make it happen one way or another, even more than our turbo kit wel will build.
