*Variable Rate Springs
**Ground Control are adjustable height springs aka sleeve coilovers. They use Eibach race springs and customized spring rates can be ordered.

Springs sold as xB springs but are not listed on manufacturer's website:
Tanabe GF210
HKS SF5
Arospeed
(edit: for some yet unknown reason, these springs are not listed on the manufacturer's website. However, they do have a part numbers different from the ones on the website, suggesting that the information for the product is simply not posted)

Anyhow that was all the info I could find on the net about various products... if anyone can fill in the rest of the spring rates or some of the ?? that'd be great. I don't think I"m missing any springs which are not JDM imports... if anyone knows the JDM brands I'll try to find the info if you post them.

The list is sorted by MSRP of which I used whatever the manufacturers site posted or was selling the springs for. For springs which did not have a price (or their site was just plain ghetto... I positioned them according to where they fell in lowest actual market pricing in relation to all other springs). edit: grouped by drop then by MSRP. Makes for easier reading.

The application column denotes whether the spring was specifically made for the xB (and hence whether a seperate spring was made for the xA, or whether the spring was made to fit both). This may help in determining how much a spring is specifically tailored towards the xB.
It should be noted I did this primary by part number. Tanabe and RS*R are the only companies i know so far that definately makes separate springs for the xA and xB (Tein, Espelir and Intrax may possibly as well). Tein has different part numbers for their xA and xB springs, but the spring rate is the same (only the lowering height changed), which MAY indicate it is the same product with different part numbers. xA Espelir spring data has been hard to come by, though it does have a different product number (ditto with Intrax).
Progress Tech does not list the xA as an application, their springs are made only for the xB it seems. I'm unsure about TRDs... maybe a dealer here knows.
There are different models of the bB in Japan.. (FWD, AWD, etc). The bB most closely resembling ours is the NCP31.

It also stands for Kilograms per Millimeter, those pesky japanese don't always translate metric into American standards. I was giving him a bit of advice on translating spring rates. On a side note I noticed that if I converted a spring rate I had both Standard and Metric rates for from the metric rates it wouldn't always add up to what the standard said it was....

1 lbs = 0.4535924 Kg
1 in = 25.4 mm

1 lbs/in = .4535924/25.4 Kg/mm = .0178580 Kg/mm
(rounded... but I might have messed up the number of sig figs)

so inverted that would be

55.99741 lbs/in = 1 Kg/mm

hmm odd not what everyone else says to use... but I used to most precise conversion factors I could find.. a lot of places leave off at 1lbs = .454 Kg or 1 lbs = .453 Kg or use 1/2.2 lbs/in = 1 Kg...

that should account for most of your error... try using my number

hmm I should probably reconvert the JDM kg/mm figures using my number..

Just updated the progress technology spring info... no hard numbers but said they provide around a 20% stiffer spring rate. They also said that the ride should be better than stock. Linear rate for the front, progressive rate in the rear.
They also said they would provide a money back guarentee if the ride quality was unsatisfactory, something I found quite interesting.

H&R was not as helpful over the phone... but I'll see what they say over email.

There are two different Tanabes, I believe the NF210s are white and the DF2102 are pink/purple...

ptuning.com now also offers Tanabe's GF210, which I think is new...

I talked to Eibach and the MSRP of the Sportlines is $319.00. But I have found places that carry them charge between $223.00 and $240.00

The HKS SF5 and the Tanabe GF210 are simply not listed on their respective websites for some reason. When/if official information for the specs comes out i'll post them up.

thanks for MSRP of the sportlines mooney. You wouldn't happen to know the pro-kit msrp too would you?
