Default SASCA SCCA 3/13/05 (San Antonio Sports Car Association)

57.342 best time... I only ran three laps, didn't go for the second set because i have this weird noise coming from my CV joint on the drivers side. I was running with the bad boy Civics and Proteges timewise. With rear sway bar removed I think I could have bested most of them, with the excepton of the full race prep cars.

Workers at the first corner radioed DNF all three laps, although no one else that was there saw me miss anything. The cone they pointed out was one I clearly remember sliding right past (go go gadget understeer). Roadbuster was working in the trailer and didn't see it, the last time they radioed in a DNF on me from the first corner, my lap was over.

So I don't get what was going on with it, and I'm going to wait to see what they post on the site before I contest it. I made it through with no cones killed and only one moved slightly inside it's box in the slalom. I started at 58.8xx, second lap was 57.9xx, and ended my day with the 5.7342

If I do get one run that isn't DNF, it'll give me my second FSP class win in two events.

Rear sway bar is coming out next time damnit.

Mad Tyte JDM Props to Cameron for taking the pics of me ballin outta control in the toaster.

Tanabe DF210 Springs, DC Sports Strut bar, Hotchkis Sway bars, One Ton garage rear spacers... and the big rims, thats about it.

I have the Injen Short ram, that keeps wheels spinning coming out of corners. I really need to get a LSD if I wanna go faster.

I talk junk to everyone all the time But then I backed it up with decent enough times. I just wish I could have ran my second set of three... I could have dropped the rear sway and maybe gotten it to come around easier.

Actually I've run on 17's and 18's The sidewall issue doesn't seem to be coming up at all. I actually run faster times on my 19's. My main issue on a SCCA Solo course is removing my rear sway bar... (i forgot to remove it this time.. DOH) On road courses and daily driving, having the rear sway bar in there is nice, but when it's out I can rotate the car alot easier.

Oh, and I could use a freakin LSD... If anyone knows of a good company making an LSD for these crap transmissions, please post and let me know. I really really need one. Spinning a tire all the way around the track with 92whp is just retarded.

Why would you remove the rear sway? do you like understeer?

No, the rear sway bar causes understeer. It keeps too much traction on the rear tires. Removing it allows the rear to break loose in low speed, tight turns. Which would have caused enough oversteer that I could have gotten around the cones and started applying more power to the ground sooner. With the rear sway bar in place, all my car did was understeer, and it cost me a ton of time.

when choosing which lack of traction to use
(over or under-steer)
one also needs to realize that oversteer is only desireable when you can control it with the pedal, it is too easy to get way too far out in an FF car-with no way to recover
understeer is less than desireable because it is relatively uncontrollable, but in an FF you can Left foot brake and make up some better traction
unless you are at the level where you are comfy "un-steering" to get traction back

long story short
oversteer ain't reliable, controllable or desireable in an FF
a$$-dragger!
and adjust your line to take advantage of the "push"
