Default Springs installed wrong?

Is it possible to install springs meant for the front on the rear?

Also, IIRC, the spring diameters are diffeent front and back.

Yeah, I think the front springs are a smaller diameter than the rear springs, so you'd definately notice something was weird.

the rear springs are smaller at the top and bottom whereas the fronts are not. the rears are also closer wound and smaller coils.

I really don't think I did it wrong but the rear just looks dumped compared to the front.

I lowered it on tanabe df210 springs and have 16 inch rims.

Is it possible? Everything installed smoothly.

I looked at the stock springs again. There is no way I did it wrong because the front and rear springs look completely different and it would be very obvious if you did it wrong.

give a little time to have them settle. Do you have a monster stereo in your hatch. My protege5 had the "system slump" from a monster system.

As ugly duck stated, if you have an enclosure in your rear area, that will cause the rear to sit lower than the front sometimes.

thats just the way the car sits. even with the same drop front and rear. im thinking of putting a 1/4" spacer in my rear springs somehow to make it look level or a little raked.
another reason the rears look so tucked is because of the offset on the wheels. if you get the onetongarage.com rear spacers it will bring the rear wheels out more and it will look less tucked.
have fun,
shannon

u cant put them in the wrong end of the car. mine was too low in the back too, so i cut a coil off of the fronts. Now its just right.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is the right way the way it is.

I'll be purchasing the otg rear spacers to bring out the wheels a little bit more since they are +40 all around.

The rear interior is all stock for now.

The issue that I had when I installed DF210s was figuring out which end was "up" on the rear springs. The directions were almost nonexistant and basically said to "install springs". The guide posted here was great for reviewing the process, but didn't really help me with deciding how to mount the rears. The Tanabe drawing showing how to mount the spiral wrap suggests that the tightly wound portion of the spring should face up. Also, the rubber cap fit better on that end. Did I make the correct choice?

on most rear springs, the end with the coils closer together gows on the top.

On the Tanabes I could not figure out which end was up, so I installed them with the print that says tanabee so I could read it not upside did, and my car sits fine. I just installed them last night. Had my alignment today, onlything that sucked is that my toe is a little off on the rear, but there are no adjustments.
