Tein S-Techs with stock wheels and tires will it work?

So when Installed my stechs I had already upgrade my rims to 17's with low profile tires (not sure of the size right now and its dark and cold outside, but they fit well) :P. I have since decided to put my steelies back on in hopes of softening the ride a little bit but when I put them up against the rim to see how they were gonna fit now that it's lowered, it looked like I might have a rub issue now. The tires size that is on the steelies is p185/60r15 84T. hoping that somebody out there has this setup? pics and suggestions would be great!!

Thanks.

You will not have a problem at all.

I'm running stock tires with an S-Tech drop. Not stock wheels, but same size, so you get the idea. No problems. Heres a couple of very crappy cell pics, but you get the idea.

I took off my 18"TRD's and put the stock steelies on for the winter months. Now I'm more than likely gonna get some new 15's in the spring. I have s-techs on also and have had no problems with them. Plus, it rides so much better now.

BTW, this picture is a perfect example to show people when they say they don't want S-Techs because it will be too low. a 2" drop is not that much. it basically just takes care of a majority of the wheel gap. you're not scraping the ground or anything.

burstaneurysm 01-19-2009 09:20 PM

Yea, 2" isn't that much... here's a shot of mine of DF210s with the steelies.

Lemme see what I can find.

burstaneurysm 01-20-2009 05:20 AM

Here's the fendergap up front with a 185/60/15 on a 7" wheel.

Rear same deal (there were camber plates in on this pic, so the rear is sunken in a bit at the top.

So yea, that tire has a really tiny stretch...

Same drop with a 195/50/15, same wheels.
Bit more gap, but lower profile on the tire.

Sits pretty low and the springs are super comfy.

Wow! Now im confused...... I cant decide which of the 2 springs should i get.

@burstaneurysm .. have you experience rubbing in the rear when let say you have 2-3 adult passengers at the back?[/quote]

i have df210s front and eibach sports rears. current wheels are painted steelies. past wheels 17" buddy clubs. no rubs whatsoever.

No rub even with passengers and cargoes?

burstaneurysm 01-20-2009 02:10 PM

Zero rubbing. I drove 400 miles with four people + luggage. The car was about 2" off the ground, but I didn't rub.

ketchup_xb 01-22-2009 08:19 AM

just like burst said. yes 0 rubbage. full load and all, includin my roofrack wif all the attachments/basket/cooler filled wif beer. my set up is different though coz my front is way lower than the rears "raking". tryin to get my hands on some spy's. gotta go lower. :)
