Drag Wheels....

Are they worth buying for just everyday wheels or should I just keep running my stock ones till I can find a good deal on "Legit" wheels?

pyroman131 12-30-2011 04:26 AM

If there's a nice wheel you like that's a Drag, get it.

The common thing you hear about with cheap wheels is the clear coat peeling. If you simply keep the wheel clean and then wax it, you'll take care of it. For the price, Drag are great. Just keep in mind they are heavy.

heavier than the stock steelies?

Buy what u can afford :icon_juggle:+ like all aftermarket wheels ya should keep up the maintainance have them looking good. Depending on how the wheel is made, some wheels have more work for the up keep + some should be removed before it snows to avoid salt damage:nails: Higher price of a wheel doesn't always mean its better ya need to compare in what you are getting + in your budget$ range.

Good Luck 8)

Almost all aftermarket wheels are heavier than the stock steelies. If you want lightweight, you'll typically pay more money for them.

if you stick with drag dr-16 in a 15" its lighter than your steelies. i love mine and am about to get another set!

hella sunk! i think they are -40 offset so a 20mm spacer in the rear and 10mm in the front should get you a conservative look

usnrocker 01-03-2012 09:51 PM

as good as they look im more into the DR-46.... id love a legit set of SSR's but the closest i can get in my price range is those...

Sciond 01-05-2012 12:51 AM

when you really know if you have a cheap wheel is the after you hit the first pothole at high speed.....

usnrocker 01-06-2012 06:40 PM

dont have to worry bout pot holes... just animals..

Sciond 01-07-2012 09:25 PM

lol oh yeah your in NC like me...seriously the bumps let you know if it is a cheap wheel..besides the paint peel..

usnrocker 01-07-2012 09:46 PM

yeah... but the way i drive im not to worried about bent rims... i was stationed in Cali and had 20's on my car never bent a single one and their roads are 10000000000000000 times worse than ours

id still rather do that in a $100 wheel vs a wheel that costs $250+ each

usnrocker 01-08-2012 07:55 PM

its easier to replace a 100 dollar wheel than a 250+ wheel....

Sciond 01-09-2012 04:27 PM

the better wheels will survive in most cases..versus not

usnrocker 01-09-2012 05:22 PM

I'm not droppin 1500 for wheels....

ive dropped major coin for a set of wheels before but that was my daily driven street/show car and its not worth it to me anymore

If it looks good run it.

I have a set of white DR-41 et10 right now. Lip for days!

(Changing up to something with a polished lip though, like the chrome look)

usnrocker 03-11-2012 04:24 AM

i ended up buying a set of Varrstoen's after a good friend totaled his 350Z with a set on it and they held up in the wreck... he has the same wheels on his E49 rag top
