New Wheels (Pix) - Should I Powder Coat??

New Wheels (Pix) - Should I Powder Coat??
I got my new mod's on - but to be honest, I'm not 100% happy w/ the look. I LOVED the look of the dark wheels. I planned on powder coating these wheels the same color as the stock RS1.0 wheels when I got them, but I'm going to wait until I coat the turbo parts also.
I've had mixed reviews on coating them or not, so - what do you think?

Mod 7's are some of the greatest rims ever, and with the maxis lip, let's just say when I saw the picks i nearly shat myself!
Now take my Advice and ignore all others on this thread. What you want to do is go to yur local custom shop and have them paint the spokes gunmetal and leave the fat sexy lip blingin'. Forget about the powder coat because you would have to do the whole rim, unless its a two piece rim, which it just might be. Then you could have them detach the middle and powder coat it gunmetal leaving the chrome lip. No need to thank me Kindness is its own reward.

I plan on masking off the rivets and lip - however, I have been told it may be "an impossible task" to mask off the rivets.
I still have to see if they are easily removeable. I think gunmetal would be awesome - but now I"m not sure if its feasible

Black and graphite is such a tired look...leave them alone. Every friggin car i see now has black with a chrome lip....lame.
I'd rather you paint them red, and at least look like you have your own style. I'm saying it right now..Black is the new RICE color!!! w00t w00t!!!

I think black with a chrome lip looks great on cars. But colormatched red might look real nice too.
Please, please tell me the fake bolts around the edge are moulded in.
I saw a car at my dealership with similar rims... The 'bolts' were actually chromed plastic that were falling off the rim. They were held on with double sided tape.
Pretty pathetic, even more so because he bought them at the dealership.

I don't think making them darker will look better than they already are. I'd leave them alone, or have the centers mirror-polished to match the lip... lotta eurotuner guys do that.
I agree those are killer wheels, def NOT played out around here...
If they were on my car I'd have em fully polished, and do either the axis logo or the backround on the center cap redone in red to tie it into the car a little better.

I'm not a big fan of powdercoating...but if you could get them with a glossy finish then it would look pretty sweet as gunmetal or black...Keep in mind that if you powdercoat the whole rim (including that chrome lip) then when you're moving, it looks like you have steelies on instead of real rims. If you powdercoat, leave the chrome lip as well as those screws chrome. Get a nice glossy finish and people with have to wear sun glasses so they can see your rims and tires go *BLING*
