it sounded like she got those tires, for about $50 per tire after tax.
It is what it is ,but personally I would have spend another $10 per tire to have done it right/proper .... and heck maybe have gotten another 6mo-1yr out of the tires if properly rotated.

Stupid question for those of you who are running the 195/50 is are you putting them on the stock steelies. I just received mine from tire rack and they look pretty big.

A 195/50 tire should fit fine on our OEM wheel , however that 50 series tire will spin more revolutions per mile (vs. the recommended 55 or 60 series tire) , so your MPH reading will read about 1 mph faster then what your actually traveling (and will also reflect a slightly higher milage on your odometer reading).
Be safe.

Sorry about that. I did get a 195/60. I ordered from Tire Rack and they called me to tell me the tire was to big that I had to ok to ship them out. I was just checking to make sure the 195/60 would fit on the stock steelie

you'll be fine.
The 60 series will make your MPH about 1 mph slower, which will help out your odometer over time

Actually his speedo will be more accurate. It is calibrated for the bB size of 185/65r15 and the 195/60R15 is right between the stock xB and the stock bB size.
My next set of tires after the stock ones are worn out will also be 195/60s.

Thanks guys! Tire Rack got me a little worried calling me and saying the tires would be to big.

That's OK. They tried that with me one time. They said they wouldn't sell me 205/40/17s cause they were not weight rated for the xB. People run that size all the time. I think it was more of a legal thing and also them looking out for their customer. Tire Rack ROCKs, I just wish they had free or lower shipping costs like Discount Tire.

They only contact you if you list what your vehicle is. I ordered 195/60-15s last week, and they didn't contact me because I choose not to list my vehicle. They'll be on the car Friday.

I've had 195/60/15s for a while now, and they really don't have any negative effects. They look a little better on the steelies than 185's do, too.

I got my Kumho Ecsta ASXs from Tire Rack, and found a mom'n'pop tire/muffler/brake shop in town that put them on for $59 (including tax). Altogether, I spent $290 and change on my tires, and I couldn't be happier.

Default P195/60R15 Falken's changed my MPG dramatically

I just put on a new set of Falken P195/60R15's and right away I noticed a serious drop in my MPG. I was getting about 33 MPG before with the factory tires. Now I am only getting 28 MPG at best. I figured that it was just a break-in period thing. But I have now put over 1000 miles on them with no difference. I commute about 100 miles/day and it is really adding up in the extra fuel these tires are costing me. Maybe if anybody has any thoughts on what else it might be that is causing this.

It can't be just the tires. Are you factoring in the speedo correction? The 195s are over 1/2 inch taller than the 185s. This tire calculator will give you the percentage to do the math more correctly. Looks like you just need to add 2% to your miles before you divide in the gallons.

The only thing I can think of is that when I had my new tires installed, somehow the alignment got messed up. I've tried correcting my speed, but to no avail. Driving 5mph below what I normally do still doesn't help. It feels like the car is dragging with my new tires, instead of going faster easier. Even when I would drive faster than normal with my old tires, I would still only dip down to maybe 31 MPG. And with the 2% correction it still only brings me up to 28.5 MPG, a little bit better, but still way off.

Gotta be the new tread pattern and the drag it creates. Exactly what tires are we talking about?

It had to have been something about the tires (Probably the tread pattern). I just recently returned the tires where I got them and got factory size tires put on. Now I am getting my usual 33MPG.

2 month bump FTW! It's ok, T&W doesn't seem to get a whole lot of love.
Anyway, I replaced the stock tires with Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid's in a 195/60-15 about a week ago. Speedo is now off by2mph at 70, instead of 3-4 before. ODO is off by more. I now add 5% to my gas mileage calculations rather than 3. Not sure if mileage is off or not. I think occasionally my tank doesn't get filled all the way, so some tanks I'll run 29mpg, others 33.
I got them at Firestone, buy 3 get 1 free. Came to $63 per plus mount/balance/stems/certs. Nice looking tire too.

When I installed my 15x7 ASA EM9 +35 and 195/60 Yokohama H4S I did not see any change in gas milage from stock wheels and tires. The ride was much more comfortable.
