Default scraped rim

Hey everyone. I scraped the very outer part of my front right rim on a curb yesterday. The scrape isn't real long but it's deep. It was on a cement curb. Does anyone have suggestions on how to possibly fix it? How much do the stock rims usually cost to replace? Thanks.

Are you talking the stock steelie? If so, they probably are about 50.00 or so. If they are common with any other Toyotas from prior years (Celica's, Lexus, etc) you might could find one at a junk yard. I was offered Corolla 14" rims for 15.00 each at a local junk yard.

Check out www.mobilewheelrepair.com. They fixed my rims after a dealer who will remain unamed at this time scratched them all up. It was at the dealer's expense so I don't know the cost but the work was great!

According to the tc forum, faq's, the stock wheels are the same as the Lexus IS300. I am guessing that those would be some type of alloy wheel rather than steel like the xa/xb.
You have to forgive me as I am an old fart and I'm not up to date on some of this stuff. So, it probably means finding a place that will fix the one you have if fixable, or a new one from the dealer. I would still call a junk yard as there are probably a lot of IS300's out there. Gotta be cheaper than a dealer!

I think hes talking about the rims as in the metal silver colored metal in the middle of the tires. If the lexus has the same spokes and 17' rim with the little scion logo in the middle id be kind of surprised... lol sry to be a smartass. anyways im not sure how much a new stock rim would cost, but they might be able to fill the scratch in somehow to make it less noticable? just a thought..

It sounds to me like you are talking about hubcaps or else the little covers over the lugnuts on alloy wheels. I think the origional poster is talking about the wheels, which I believe are alloys (probably with the lugnut cover plate.) I could be wrong though.

I just bought 4 brand new wheels and tires for $400 from a dealer who was taking them off brand new cars on his lot to put on aftermarket rims. There are a bunch of good deals on stock rims on ebay.

my solution was easy. paint the alloys flat black. If a curb comes out and hits you (because we dont hit curbs) you can just paint the wheel again

this solution is not for everyone but it worked for me

and Ebay and classifides are aways a good place to look around
