Default so whats the deal with pirrelli?

so i bought my second tc since feb29, this july 4..
i decided to go with the rs 1.0 tc.
as you all know it comes with new ms tires

well my problem is that all four tires started to break at the seam between the sidewall and thread....

it was getting worse and they had only4500 miles. and i baby my tires/ cars..

well i take them to the dealership and after almost getting banned from my dealership they decide to replace all four. not just one two three;four!...

so they replaced them facing opposing direction from how they came; meaning the side wall with the sidecut gooves with the cool pirrelli logo was now on the inside.

well i've driven over 6k miles now with my new ones and they are just fine???

i'm tired of typing anyone feel my pain..

the pirelli tires are supposed to go in one direction.. (pzero nero) if they screwed up make them fix it.. they are called asymetrical, meaning they are directional.. there should be arrows telling you which way is the correct direction.. it's there for a reason.. complain (calmly) to the dealer..

but about the quality of pirelli? I hear you, i went through many pzero nero m&s tires until i received ones that were not out of round and ones that were balanceable! This is why I am looking (when the time comes) at other tires. Sure I know I was one of the first to tell everyone how awesome they were, and they do grip extremely well! and they handle, brake, ride well.. but the issue of the quality really makes me not want to buy them again for the chance i might have to go through tire after tire if i ever bought them again... even the tire guy was like "wow, talk about tons of defectives, this is nuts".. so i am looking at other tires.. toyo? yokohama h4s? just want something decent, with good grip, good cold weather ability,etc..

So for you telling me what happened to you with these tires, i am not surprised. It's too bad really cuz they otherwise are great tires..

MODS- might want to move this to either tC or tread & butter

I have had pirelli p-zero nero 19" on my ride since day one. Not only have they been an excellent tire, but they have gone well beyond their rated mileage. I am getting ready to finally replace them after 40K miles. Oh and I'm lowered.

So sorry no complaints... btw im replacing them with pirelli's.

My 2 cents

my srv advisor said they could go on either way. what do you say?
my salesman said it was rocket science trying to read the markings on tires>

and does anyone have these exact tires?

i'm not complaining about the quality just the workmanship of pirrelli

p zero nero MS
are they multidirectional or not?
why when faced with the funny grooved side on the inside did my tires not split along a seam obviosly placed without enough glue to keep it shut?

Just checked my tires .. they are not marked as directional, however they are definately marked as outer edge ... so technically my tires could be mounted backwards if someone is not paying attention.

Just because people read the thread doesn't mean they have any feedback to give.

As far as I know, you should be fine, you just won't get the best performance of backwards tread. I don't know much about the Pirelli MS tires, but if they are unidirectional and you don't think they are put on correctly, get them remounted by someone who can read and comprehend.

edit: They are bi-directional...I'd complain and get them remounted, markings outward.

so the marking that says INNER or OUTER means how they should be installed?
the tires came mounted like all the other rss i have seen with the side with "outer "mark out.

but the now my replacments are on with the inner marking on the outside...

my dealer said since the thread was still going > it would be ok and he said " there are one way tires; but you see yours are multi"

the thread isn't back words you can flip the tire either way and still see the tread going forward when looking at the tires.

but yes i agree one side says INNER in three diffrent languages on one side and on the other OUTER....

first off why don't you go to a tire shop and have them look at the tires to see if they are mounted corectly or not then take it from there if you have direct questions about the tires ask someone at the tire shop they will give you the best info and if they are mounted wrong go to a diff dealership or call scion directly if you can't get it resolved through your dealership

yeah i just found out my dealership let me down..

seems my tires have been on the wrong way for the last 6k..

my service advisor said it was partly my fault. when they replaced all original tires they put on three one way and one the other i asked that they fix it. therefor it was my fault that the replacement tires were installed incorrectly..

someone needs some glasses..

still doesn't explain why my originals had to be replaced..
THREAD SEPERATION....
toyota needs to explain why my tires had to be replaced in an apropriate manner. and not under the table this is an issue still waiting to be fixed.
